From Script to Screen: Unfinished Storyboard & Script
[The two pirates will be given names at some point]
Just realised I could make the plunger look like something similar to the image below and thus still have the two bugs fighting over the flower at the end - but inadvertently cooperating.
There's an assured vision underpinning your workflow so far; your script zips along, and the changes you've made in terms of the opening are pitch-perfect in terms of kicking the story into action. I really like the idea of the two pirates co-operating just before their untimely demise. I like your storyboard too - in so much as it represents you at your most pared down and 'efficient'; in terms of a more 'client facing' storyboard, you might need to enrich it a little more so. In your script, you make reference to an escalation of attempts to open the flower, and it's clear you're not quite ready to commit to the exact sequencing of action here. One of the successes of your design ideas so far have been the logical way in which you enmeshed pirate tropes with the natural world (so map as leaf etc). I'd be interested to see how you continue this design logic into these other components; for example, 'dynamite' - I was thinking about explosive seed pods as your botanical equivalent:

I can see how your growing expertise as a sound designer is going to be key to further enriching your bug world! *boom!*
I look forward to your official OGR when it arrives, but you've been producing work and sharing it consistently, so I'm encouraged. I look forward to a definitive set of character model sheets etc as you move towards a finalised line-up.
