Further concepts for the treasure-flower (looked at giant clams, anemone flowers, jellyfishes, etc). The challenge here is to have a shape onto which a plunger would 'naturally/logically' fit.
maybe the plunger is used to 'inflate' the pod into opening - so a hole is made in the side, to which the plunger is attached, and then the plunger is 'plunged' causing the clam-pod to pump-up until it opens? In this way - you don't need the flower to particularly align with the plunger.
