From Script to Screen: Props Visual Development — 2nd Ship

Not sure if this is a relevant idea or not but there is a room in the Royal Palace of Brussels whose ceiling fresco is entirely made out of colourful beetle wings. I therefore thought that instead of showing what the second pirate's ship is actually made of, its surface could be covered in the same manner. In this way it would look as flamboyant as its crew but also add a touch of macabre irony, these trophies emphasizing the length of the pirates' rivalry and her regular victory over the beetle. However I doubt this will come across as particularly striking to the audience.
